Joshua Gerdes

Growing up in a Christian household, where children’s ministry was an important piece, my grandmother ran children’s church and a VBS in her back yard. I received the importance of discipling children at a young age. We are called to teach and grow up young minds in the love and way of Jesus. Before I started attending Christ Church Fox Chapel I wanted to run the children’s ministry at my previous church. But God, knowing more than me, called me to CCFC with my wife to worship and minister in the Fox Chapel area. After a year of serving as the Assistant Children’s Minister, I was offered the opportunity to lead. This was an awesome blessing and a true working of God. CCFC has been a place where my wife, Kirsten, and I have come to call home and the congregation family. It has been an honor to be under a Godly and gospel preaching pastor like Rev. Alex. This will be a great opportunity to work with children and to expand my knowledge to help me with my work as an Urban Missionary with Urban Impact.
