Jan. 24: You’re Good Enough

Jan. 24: You’re Good Enough

Satan speaks out of both corners of his mouth. In this lie he wants us to settle for the idea that good people go to heaven… and we must be good right? When we accept this lie, we compare ourselves favorably to others (“at least I’m not that person”). If the previous lie understates the severity of our sin, this understates the holiness of God. Again, there is a grain of truth in it, you can be good enough, but in Christ, not works.
